My entry for Silhouettefriday.

A typical northern town scene with the house chimney with arial and in the centre is the chimney stack of one of the few remaining Lancashire cotton mills. On the right by the tree can be seen in the distance a church steeple....the bells from that disused church are now in York Minster.

Great history here Megmet......the contten mills.. I love Cathrine Cookson...
and all that old 19th/ early 20th century Novels...
all about the Cotton Mills.....I must surely visit one on our return to England..!

If you come here when you get back Liz there is a cotten mill near here that is a working museum you can visit.
The one in my photo was shot from my bedroom window. :-))

There is a great deal to see in this part of the north west, Howorth to name just one place is just down the road from here, it was the home of the Bronte sisters and their home is now a museum.... So many places and things to see!
