Reginald's Tower is the oldest civic, urban structure in Ireland. It is in Waterford City where I now reside. It dates from the early 1100. This bulky three-storey tower was put to many uses, including hosting the wedding of Strongbow and Dermot MacMurrough's daughter. For a time it was a mint – there's a display on the coinage produced here – later becoming an arsenal before being used as a jail from around 1819. It is now a museum.
