We had fog the night before and it resulted in all the trees having white frost all over them the next mornig. I had to get in a few shots before the sun came out and melted it all.

White out, is it called a hoar frost ?

To me a white out is when you are driving in a blizzard and can't see past your nose but you may be right that it is called hoar frost. I have a few pics that I took in town that show it off better. I'll try to get them posted and maybe you can tell from them.

Looks like snow on the ground. My idea of white out is the same as yours. I think a HOARFROST is the same thing as frost (little ice needles). Hoarfrost was the word used back in 13th century England, and probably still is used in Europe sometime. I think I read that somewhere???

I can see the 3 of us now looking up to see what hoarfrost really is LOL. I'll post another picture that shows the back laneway behind out house.
