He sure is cool Jamie. They are such a pretty moth. Taking pics of insects, moths, spiders etc actually has lessened my dislike of them. Now I like to see what they really look like. Most are very beautiful when you see them close up.

Sometimes they are black with red spots and sometimes they are dark blue with the red spots. I would love to see the dark blue one!

Yes I will go as far to say this is a nice moth but unfortunatley it's called a moth and i have this great dislike of any moth ? but it is a great capture :-))

It acts more like a butterfly Lynn than a moth. It is awake during the day and feeds on flowers. It will 'feign' death and fall to the ground if disturbed. So no fluttering around you at night!

Thank you Denise, my sister showed me a photo yesterday of a plant with 5 of these on it!!! It was in the book on butterflies and moths I bought her for her birthday from my granddaughters.
