Bee Orchid, Hybred White Orchid, Common Spotted, Pyramidal, Twayblade, Common Spotted, Man Orchid, Common Spotted with the Bee Orchid together.

These are the orchids I have found on my walks with Poppy. The Common Spotted, Pyramidal and the Twayblade are in abundance when in flower. I only found a few Man Orchids and only one Bee Orchid. I missed the Fly Orchid it was gone before I knew about it. The hybrid white orchid is probably a hybrid of the Common Spotted. It has no markings at all on the pure white petals, a cream centre and plain leaves - no spots. I have found 6 of them.

The bottom right photo shows how small the Bee Orchid is next to a small Common Spotted.

Thanks Thor, I am so lucky where I live as we live in a protected area because there are so many rare wild flowers. We have the chalk soil that these Orchids need and also a specific type of acid in the soil. Else we would not have so many. Just wish I had not missed the Fly Orchid - next year I hope to see one.

They grow within a few minutes or so walk from my house Joan. You will have to come down early next June to see them all - and the rare yellow rattle too.
