Milano, Italy
The final result was an extraordinary building punctuated by 40 buttresses pierced by tall windows, with a short transept and an apse with 3 huge windows. A large part of the sculptural architecture decoration and the many statues in the main body of the Duomo can be attributed to masters from Tuscany, the Veneto region, Campione, France, Germany, Bohemia and Bourgogne and the most of it dates to the period spanning the 14th & 15th century. The facade originally concieved in Gothic style but in the 17th century rethought and partly transformed in Baroque key, was restructured according according to the original plan in 1805 by order of Napoleon and was finally completed in Gothic forms....
.....the facade is being covered for restoration....
