At first glance, one would not suspect they were looking at the first chartered bank in the state of Florida.. And it's just as country today as it ever was. The Quincy State Bank was sold to Capital City Bank Group a few years ago and with total disregard for history, the Capital City Bank replaced the Quincy State Bank with it's own logo. The actual location of the original bank was on the other end of the same block where the white pick-up trucks are parked.

This bank building looks so different from those I am used to. I am inclined to have more trust in this one than in the "Bank Palaces" you see in the larger cities!

Peter, it is a branch of a larger system, but I know all the folks who work in this branch, which is nice. I only wish the "big boys" hadn't changed the name and lost the charter #1. The daughter of the founder of the original bank is now 94 years of age and she was a little upset as well.

Well, Larry, at least remains the same architecture, I think.
Here the banks that buy another swallow everything, even the architecture. See, this, for example, this picture is very similar to our Citibank, and close it. http://www.fotothing.com/verarenm/photo/97c818677fb3f153da74dfc64b22b80e/

Vera- I live in a small town where the tallest building is only two floors and some of the buildings include a basement which makes for three. Even the Capital city of Florida (Tallahassee) feels like a small town in that it does not have really tall buildings except for the state office buildings Nothing like your city.
