Guess it is time for me to post a new photo. Guess everyone recognizes this super veggie. This is a nice plant to grow in the winter season where I live. One of the great things about the broccoli plant is that once the center head is harvested (this one is not yet as big as I like for first cutting), new smaller heads grow out of the remaining stalk just above each leaf.

Barbara, I had my camera's white balance set to fluorescent light which made the brown stuff look red. The grey-green of the broccoli seems about right. New camera...new menus to learn!

Thank you Samir. Broccoli is really much sweeter when picked fresh than market varieties. I was testing my newest camera and I think I am satisfied with it's macro capabilities although I purchased it for the zoom. Color balance was a little off in this shot, but that was my fault for having the white balance set wrongly.

Thanks Geoff. A delight for sure. I graze on it daily, eating it before it makes it to my kitchen.

Not a lot of color Hans like a flower would be, but I agree with you in that it is interesting for a photograph.

Peter, I know what you mean. The flower heads on Hydrangea are pretty tight like this.
