Thank you Sylvia. Actually, this was a fairly "blah" photo that I framed in Picasa3.

Jake, thanks a lot. The original had sort of a grey-ish background. I added the yellow-ish Vignette with Picasa3 software because yellow is the complimentary color to purple which really brought out the natural color of the little flower. I added a frame and then a border (in that order). I bet you could make a nice frame for this one. :-)

Thank you Barbie. The framing, etc. was another case of a blind pig finding an acorn every so often. Often it is the 'weeds' we generally step on without notice that have among the most lovely of blossoms.

These are so beautiful! What a lovely presentation. It looks like a beautiful card. Can you eat those artichokes? (Italian here and I LOVE artichokes)
Jul 30 2012 23:57 GMT larrybenedict
Yes Linny. Every part of the plant is edible. Not anything like the kind of artichoke you may be thinking of. Not many people (where I live) even know they are edible, but I'll try anything! I started out by just taking a small bite of the swollen root and it didn't kill me so the next time I dug some up I ate more. They are a very invasive plant here in N. Florida and I dig them up when digging in my flower beds..
