I've been busy this week re-working a flower bed....pulling out the weeds and planting Chrysanthemums (Mums) in the place where Zinnias, Salvia and Marigolds once were the Kings and Queens. I may leave a couple of Zinnia plants despite the plant looking very ragged, the fresh blooms keep coming...and so do the butterflies!

You did really a fantastic work Larry, and I wish you that many butterflies will visit your marvellous flowers !!

In my area it begins to be rather too cold for butterflies. It is snowing already until about 1000m above sea level.........

Thank you Ruth. I haven't always lived in North Florida so I know about cold weather and grey skies. The Winter months are the most pleasant here in North Florida. There are some cold nights toward the end of December, lasting until early February. The days are sunny and warm. The only butterflies I notice in the winter months are the Skippers.

Thank you Anna-Maria. Yes, the climate in N. Florida is super nice. Not much cold weather, but still a change in climates. Not all palm trees and sand like it is farther south.

Lalbabu, I used a HDR filter in Picasa3 for the effect you are seeing.

This is a lovely colourful entry, Larry......the HDR has really enlivened the front flower, in particular. I agree with Anna-Maria about your climate, sounds great!

Thank you Barbara. To enhance detail, sometimes I use the HDR effect and sometimes the pencil sketch. I like the hard edges on some things like buildings and some flowers.

Hi G√ľnter, I grew up in Kentucky, near the Mississippi River, about 25 miles south of where the Mississippi and Ohio Rivers converged. Because of your proximity to the sea, you probably have higher humidity levels. I live about 50 miles north of the Gulf of Mexico. Thanks for the kind compliment on the photo.
