I planted these Zinnias in a bed in front of my garage (street side of the house) thinking they would be tall, but so far, they are more like ground cover. Perhaps I should give them time. They were plants purchased from Wal-Mart rather than from seeds. I'm wondering if Wal-Mart has invaded Europe yet???

superb image again, most tastefully framed. you really are an artist.

i don't know about europe but they are sure here in china. not in my town, but everywhere else. unfortunately they don't carry the stuff we are used to. more in line with the public's demands.

Thank you G√ľnter. I have read that 67% of the merchandise in USA Wal-Mart's is made in China. I also have read (Wall Street Journal) that a lot of manufacturing is moving to Bangladesh and Indonesia because wages in China have been going up on average, 20% per year for the past 5 years. I may be mistaken, but I'm thinking minimum wage in China was quoted as being $2 per hour (conversion to dollars).

Thank you Joan. Most Zinnias I have planted from seed grow so tall, I have to "stake" them....maybe around 24inches (60+ cm)

Thank you Barbara. I wonder what ASDA stands for? Wal-Mart (ASDA) is constantly spreading, but from what I understand, the pace is very slow in India because of their system of having to go through so many "middle men." I hear people complaining about Wal-Mart all the time, but the stores are always full of shoppers....mostly poor and middle class folks like me. Lots of very wealthy people where I live.....almost never see them in Wal-Mart!

Peter, the flowers are a delight. I wish I could grow tulips too, but some of my wishes just are not in the realm of possibility.

Thanks Glenn. Doing well for an old man. If I was still young, then I would be a little worried and start taking better care of myself. I probably should do that now.
