This was (is) my first year to grow "Cosmos".....I planted it from seeds that I purchased from Wal-Mart and have had mixed results. Some of the plants grew very tall (4 feet) with no blooms at all. Some grew less than 30cm, Some had bloom buds, but never opened up with petals. Over all, my experience is that they are not as reliable as Zinnias for lots of color in a flower bed. I do like the feathery foliage!

Well, this one is certainly a success story, Larry......have you got the 'chocolate Cosmos' that looks and smells like chocolate? You get the chocolate hit without any calories!

Lovely work again, Larry. These flowers are gorgeous, but I haven't had much luck growing them either.

Thank you Linny. This was one of my favorites that I shot this week. Hand held shots are tricky for me, so I shoot 5 or 6 and sometimes get one that isn't fuzzy.

Thank you Sini. Someone ask me (not long ago) what happened to Sini and Marijke. Nice to see you back (if you have been gone). I come and go myself, depending on my mood and available time.

Thank you Linny. I don't 'out and about' like so many of my FT friends, but am surrounded by lots of flowers so that's what I photograph. I've loved flowers since childhood.
Still, I should go on a trip sometime and photograph architecture or something!

Larry, Jake and I do "adventure days" as often as we can. We usually stumble upon something beautiful along the way. Thank god for the GPS or we'd be lost forever.

Beautiful close up, Larry. Yea, I know the "cosmos". We normally see out in our autumn, Growing wild on farmlands or even next to the highway... Not doing good in a garden, Some do grow big as trees? And others little, as you mentioned. Colours. .. White. .. Pink.. And then almost purple red... !!!
