Final resting place for the old tenant house. At this point, footings will be dug, filled with concrete, and then concrete blocks will be laid on the footings to bring the house about three feet (approx. 1 meter) off the ground (above grade)....and level, of course!
This is a pseudo-HDR photo in which fine detail is lost to improved contrast (both the highlights and shadows were accentuated)

Nancy.... I think you would change your mind if you saw inside this old house. It needs a lot of fixin' up, which it will get over the next few months.

This is a small house, and it looks very old. Would it cost that much more to build new, as opposed to the cost of moving the house and all the repairs and fixing up inside? Just wondering.

Actually Glaydy8er, I think a house this size could be built for one half the money it cost to move it. Some people have more dollars than sense!!!!!!! I would have not made the same choice.
