A week ago, I released eight young ducks onto my backyard pond. They have attracted the attention of this bird of prey I suppose, because I have not ever seen this bird before and I've lived at this location for 14 years. Peter Pin Hole tells me it's an Osprey It is much too small to carry away a large duck. Perhaps it was hoping for some small ducklings? Take a look at the larger size if it will help identify. It's not a sharply detailed photo....I'm not steady enough for handheld shots like this! I have steady hands, but when I hold a camera with spot focus, I shake like an O'possum passing a peach seed!
