In my part of the world, it seems to be Springtime (early this year). The pear tree is usually the first of the fruit trees to send forth blossoms. These pear blossoms are of the Kiefer variety (I'm guessing!). The pears are sweet and slightly crispy or can be left in a fruit bowl for a day or two after picking and they become sweeter and softer. Deer usually begin checking the tree for fallen fruit arount the first of August. They pay little attention to the passing cars on the street when pears are falling to the ground. The pear tree is less that 50ft. (15.2 meters) from the street.
