What good is a 'garden ball' (previous photo) without a garden. This is a cucumber flower. The cucumber variety is "Diva" and the cucumbers born on these vines are so delicious, one has to lie down to eat them !!!....thin skin keeps the inside crisp and juicy. The only cucumber I've eaten that I didn't have to peel. Seeds obtained this past winter from Pinetree Garden Seeds in New Gloucester, Maine. Plant lots of them. If you don't, you'll regret it after tasting the first one. I think they are best while standing by the kitchen sink, with a salt shaker in one hand.....same way I eat tomatoes! Yum! I was just kidding about lying down to eat um...I don't like to get salt in the carpet! :-)

I've missed you Mirka. XXOO's to you. Time spent gardening doesn't take away from your alloted days in this lifetime....I think that applies to fishin' too! Glad you are staying busy...less time to get into trouble! :-)
Garden is doing OK on it's own today......think I'll go fishing!

Thank you Lizzy. I'm feeling the love!!!!! :-)) The colors do appear to be vivid, don't they. Straight out of the camera, with no added 'juice.' It was a bright, sunshiny day!

Aug 23 2009 00:41 GMT larrybenedict
Susana, my 'castellano' is probably better than my English. I speak Hillbilly and Redneck, but for first language English speakers, understandable to some degree!

Lovely!
Aug 30 2009 04:10 GMT larrybenedict
Vera, eu no estou familiarizado com a famlia chayote/chuchu.

Ok Larry, por certo o so!

Encontro-me a cometer erros do gnero com algumas palavras.
