Flower of the day :-) No snow where I live. No beautiful architecture to photograph either, but there are lots of flowers. This is one of my favorite Formosa Azalea bushes and it is in a part of the yard/garden that is generally out of sight from my normal 'coming and going path'. The Formosa Azales can get by in heavily shaded areas and this white azalea grows in one of those areas. Not as many blooms as those that get more sun, but still quite a few.

Great image, I particularly like this one, not being a gardening buff I like to walk around my local park and admire the well planted beds as well as taking river walks and enjoying the wild flowers. This one you have posted grows in a well shaded area of my local park beside a beautiful old stone wall, I alway's wondered why it could do so well in such a shaded area.

Thanks Peter. Most of my Azaleas are partially shaded but they all sent forth blooms a few weeks of the year. Those that get the most sun have the most flowers.

Günter...we must have similar taste. I don't do any fancy editing...just crop and frame. Bandsix got me started way back when, and I discovered the value of presentation! :-) I use Picasa3 for everything...simple enough for anyone, even ME!

Thank you Sylvia. It is a delicate looking flower, isn't it! It is somewhat delicate in that a heavy rain will beat down the flowers into a wilted mess. Fortunately, we don't get as much rain where I live as you do where you live. :-)

Jo, I wasn't exactly complaining about no snow where I live. I do not care if I ever get to experience snow again...had enough of it growing up. I like cool weather, but not cold weather. Forty degrees is chilly, 39 is COLD. I like chilly nights because they make for nice sleeping weather. Chilly days, not so much! :-)

Glen, I agree with you....the blooms are translucent when the sun is behind them and even pretty in the shade. I look forward to Azalea blooming time every year.
