I don't remember exactly, but I think it was about two years ago that I got out of bed one morning at 4AM to drive down to the coast and watch the sunrise over Apalachacola, Florida. The previous photo and this one are two of the photos of the less than spectacular sunrise that morning. In this photo, a wooden fisherman carved out of an old tree many, many years ago....now proped up with a couple of stakes and freshly painted a year or more previous to this photo.
Breakfast at the "Gibson Inn" later was worth the trip. Scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage gravy on a biscuit and a cup of coffee better'n anything Starbucks has ever come up with! Breakfast so good, I almost had to lie down to eat it! Pass the orange juice...Florida orange juice, that is!!!

Those sunrises can be very spectaculer down there......I lived not too far from there for a few years, a place called Milton about 20mi from Pensicola. I do miss it at times.:-))

My favorite time at the beach as well Jo, I rarely go to the beach anymore. Kids are grown and I don't look as good in a swim suit now! Well, maybe I never did.

I enjoyed your description of the morning too, especially the part about the orange juice...its made me look forward to the winter here when we will have all the delicious oranges that surround us here once again.

Hey, have you ever been to Jack Wingate's lodge on Lake Seminole? He was one of the greatest guys around. Lake Sem is my favorite bass fishing lake!!

Yes Jim. I live about 15 miles from Lake Seminole and Jack Wingates's. Some pretty good fishin' up there.

Great idea to get up that early! And the breakfast sounds well deserved and tastes twice as great when you do this!
One day at 0500h I couldn't sleep at my friend's cottage and I got up and watched the fog twirl like ballet dancers on the lake water. It was a sight I'll never forget. No camera unfortunately, but it's stamped in my mind so clearly.
I like your fisherman. I am going to Newfoundland in the fall for a Nursing conference and this is the look I am expecting!
