Mandevilla blooms. The vine is so full of red velvet flowers and it is difficult for me to capture with a camera so I edited the photo with Picasa3. Three years ago, the vine was in sunshine a good bit of the day and had few blooms, so I was just going to discard it (was in a big flower pot). After I dragged it off to the back of the house (mostly shade) it started blooming. I should have known it prefer ed filtered sunlight as the vine grows naturally in the Brazilian forest. This year, I did some more dragging....to an area of filtered sunlight between two tall pine trees. It is doing even better, so I may plant it there permanently.
