Although these ground cherries grow inside a husk resembling a 'Chinese Lantern', I discovered that if I put them inside my "worm beds", there is a very tiny little bug, that lives with the red worms, that will eat the 'paper' between the webbing and leave the fruit alone. I find it fascinating that nature wraps such a delicious little fruit in it's own little enclosure to protect it from 'what', I don't know!
