I found these letterboxes (mailboxes)on the little island on the Swedish west coast called "Lilla Kornö". No one lives there in the winter, but in summer all houses are occupied. There is one letterbox for every house, so if you count them you can see how many houses there is.

it must be cold there in the winter, being right on the coast. is it mear malmo? i sound like i know sweeden, don't i? :) i only know malmo because i took the ferry there once from copenhagen :) i love the mailbox photos!

No, it's not near Malmö. I should think it takes about 5 or 6 houres to drive there. And you are right - is is very cold in the winter, mainly because of the wind. The temperature is not so very low, but it feels very cold.

This is the normal size (and shape) for mailboxes in Sweden.
But nowadays the mailman doesn't come to this island at all. One of the persons who live there must go by boat to the mainland and collect the mail for everybody and then put it in the different mailboxes.
