Two days after we lost the first tree, we lost another in this storm. This one started about 6 pm. It got REALLY dark. The wind blew the rain sideways in sheets. When it comes down sideways it seems to get in to the house in spots that wouldnt usually leak in your usual rain situation. The water gets blown all up and under stuff and it cant soak in quick enough so there is just a big lot of water.

I like your description of leaks. I found exactly that same thing earlier this summer when we had five inches of rain in about five hours. Rain was coming down the inside walls of our porch, and the only way there is through the house somewhere.
