The building dates back to 1676,the two other wings were pulled down in the 19th century to make way for the Victorian railway & it's the last surving coaching inn in London. The Victorian novelist Charled Dickens used to be a frequent visitor here.

good shot, I'll see if I can find an old postcard of it, that development at the end looks a bit incongrous!

Yeah it does,there is a modern bar,on the left of the pic out of sight which faces the George & it all spoils that old world feel!
