Beautiful row of Queen Anne style houses with the former church of St John Smith Square in the middle. The church was desinged by Thomas Archer & was completed in 1728 & was regarded as the finest English Baroque.Legend has it that When Thomas Archer asked Queen Anne what she wanted it to look like, she kicked over her footstool & said 'Like that' hence the 4 towers on the church. During the war the church was gutted by bombs.Today it's used as a concerthall.
