Hi Karen, welcome to FT, this is a great image, I think the bright table works for you, the lighting is from behind the birds giving a nice highlight to thier edges & the bright table has reflected light back into the shadows. Also the background out of focus with the back light really helpd to make the subject stand out.

Hello Karen great photo. The best bit of advice I can give is, when photographing any wildlife is to focus on the eyes, get them sharp and you shouldnt go far wrong. Oh and 1 more thing practice practice practice.
