Well my dearies, - dudes & dudettes ;-)
Here is another shot from the early days of the Blue Lagoon.
Very early on, psoriasis patients discovered that the white-grey mud of the lagoon had very beneficial properties and could keep them symptom-free.
In 1987 when this picture was taken, minimal bathing facilities had just recently been built. Today though, they have been much expanded, with f.ex. additional saunas and what-not and there is also a world-class health spa and skin clinic there. (They also have a range of products now wich is manufactured from the mud).
So you get the same benefits for your skin as in 1987, only now one would have to pay a godzillion dollars to get them?????? God bless the cosmetic industry :))))))
Hehe, yes ain´t that the case...
I have to say, though, that this is home-grown, so to speak - no great big huge foreign cosmetics giant.
And you can still just go bathing. Buying skin care products is completely optional.
(I think the main reason was (originally at least), that psoriasis patients wanted to use the mud without *having* to travel to the Blue Lagoon all the time).
