The same weekend that we in Karlakór Kópavogs (the men´s choir of Kópavogur) had our spring concert, my mother also had a lot going on!
She opened a quite large exhibition of her paintings in Grindavík (a town not far from Reykjavik).

Umm, I was actually about to upload another picture (the next one), but I thought that since I had mentioned it (mom´s exhibition) I should give you some idea of how it looked...
So I´m uploading this picture wich I just now stitched together in a hurry...
Unfortunately my pictures from the opening weren´t all that good. (The ones that I used for this stitch f.ex., are out of focus) (I was using an old, completely manually focused lens). (Sigh).
-But anyway, this is just to give you the general idea.

-By the way, the red paintings are from an earlier collection, "Red women".

The women to the right are all making "saltfiskur", i.e. salted & dried fish. -(Bacalao). ( http://img.alibaba.com/photo/104838344/Salted_and_dried_saithe_Pollachius_Virens_Bacalao.jpg )
It was an important industry for Iceland in past ages.
The exhibition is at ("Saltfisksetriđ"), the saltfish museum in Grindavík, so she painted some pictures of women making saltfish specifically for this occasion :-)

She just opened a website (wich she is also very proud of) ;-D

For english, click "english" on the right side of the screen.
-You can see *some* of her pictures in the "galleries" section.
(She opened the site just a few days ago, so it is still being updated).
