The second one is Snæfellsjökull (literally: snow-mountain´s glacier). (Snæ-fells-jökull). 1446m.
It is also a volcano and is capped by a glacier. It is visible from Reykjavík. (At about 120km / 75miles distance).
In Jules Verne´s book "Journey to the Centre of the Earth", the entrance to the passage wich leads to the centre of the Earth is found here.
Snæfellsjökull is renowned for its mystical powers and many people believe that it is actually one of the Earth´s main energy points. Each year, hundreds of people gather at the roots of the mountain to meditate and soak up the energy wich is said to emanate from the volcano.
The surrounding area is extremely beautiful and the mountain is included in the Snæfellsjökull National Park.
