The yellow building houses Fridtjof Nansen´s famous (and enormously strong) polar expedition ship Fram.
In the foreground is Gjøa, the first ship to sail through the legendary Nortwest passage. (During a 3-year expedition, captained by Roald Amundsen).
Yes, these days it´s just exhibited in front of the Fram museum.
But once upon a time this (former herring fishing boat!) was used for some of the world´s most significant polar expeditions!
