When I saw the thumbnail, I guessed Honda right away. I don't know what that proves, but I like guessing right. ;-)

Don't you wish you could drive it?

No, I had never seen one either, rtw :-)
They are quite rare nowadays, and very collectible.
In the first production years they actually had a chain drive!
It was introduced at the 1965 Tokyo Motor Show, and was then the company's new image car.

As rtw said,...thought I knew cars pretty well. Any idea the model year? Just curious. Hope you had a great holiday, and Happy New year!

I´m not sure what the model year of this particular car was, klemmie. But the car was introduced at the Tokyo motor show in 1965 (offered for sale from '66) and the production ended in 1970.
-I also read that they had designed it to qualify for sizable tax breaks under government regulations. But the tiny open two-seater looked like a "performance" machine to certain government officials, and they denied it "light car" status.

-So it was only produced for 4 years. They are apparently quite sought after today. I saw one posted at a car dealership´s page. There was a price on it (I forget how much), but they said that the car was nevertheless "not for sale"!
