-My mother´s late husband was a pilot & captain for Flugfélag Íslands (Icelandair) from 1966 and in those days they sometimes flew to Greenland with these ski equipped Douglas DC-3 -s and landed on the sea-ice!

Yep, the stance of a taildragger is much cooler, isn't it?
Especially when viewed from the front!
It's sort of like they're taking off, even when standing still! :-)
