And another blue shot :-)
This is a good friend of mine at the Geysir high-temperature geothermal area. (The picture was taken in 1987, mind you. :-D It is a scan from my slides).
There are many different geysers, pools, springs hot bubbling mud pits, steam vents etc. there.
This beautiful blue pool is not one of the extremely hot ones, though. It is just pleasantly warm :-) -And if I recall correctly, it is called "Blesi".
-And it really is this blue!!

I did some checking on various photo-equipment netsites and it got overall very positive reviews :-) I am actually also in your position; I have large amounts of slides from my pre-digital days wich I�d like to get onto digital format. At one time I was even considering getting a dedicated slides-scanner. But anyway, now I have bought this one. It is a Canon CanoScan 8800F. Apart from "normal" scanning, it can scan slides in frames, 120 film and the usual 35mm film. I was also extremely satisfied with the programs package wich came with the scanner. In addidion to various scanning programs, it also had Photoshop Elements! :-) I had been using an older version of Photoshop (wich I had actually gotten from a friend of mine) (cough, cough) ;-) -but I once tried Photoshop Elements, and for a long time I had been wanting to buy that program. But now I got it for "free" with this excellent scanner. It was a very welcome icing on the cake! :-) -K
