Oh my....I have been taking a good deal of time to decide what picture to enter into "detailsfriday" - and all my speculation has even made me a bit late.
But I´m not letting that stop me! :-D
Too many times have I been too late (or simply forgotten altogether), so this time I´m uploading, no matter what! Hahaa! So there!! ;-D

Well, this is a detail on Fjære kirke (the church of Fjære), built in the year 1150. It is just above a side entrance. (The only side entrance, actually).
-Since it is built in the year 1150, it means that it is just at the end of the viking age.

Very interesting image. really like the way the deep shadow behind the head creates a dominate contrast and draws the eye immediatley to the primary subject. The supporting lines, shapes and textures all cobine to create a really good photograph.

wonderful detail !!

Good textures. And a fine choice of subject.

But the top is badly over-exposed, ruining it.
A it of shadow/highlight adjustment in PS, will work wonders.

Peoples should be more constructive in comments, instead of the glib, 'nice shot' .
