I'm guessing this is a taxi (?) I wonder about the price of fuel there, which might contribute to the cost of the taxi. All your photos make me want to come over there and experience the culture.

the price of fuel is high just like in the rest of the world. most of these taxis are actually rowed by hand. this one is motorized for longer distances. pearl oyster cages and some of the larger fishing vessels anchor pretty far away
