My tribute to the brilliant horror writer, James Herbert who passed away today. He wrote many books, The Rats, The Fog etc, but my favorite was The Survivor, and for those that have read the book, the green on the other side of the river is called The Brockers and this is where the story started.
Reading a horror story based close to home makes it all the more interesting.

A very nice tribute and you are right when a story is based close to where you live it means much more. There is a mystery writer Harlan Coben who grew up in mythe town that I lived before moving to Florida and a lot of his stories were about areas where I lived
One on the next street over...so yes it does mean more when you know the neighborhood.
