How this place has changed, the green you see used to be woodland that stretched right to the fence at the top of my road. It was private property but we used to go over their with friends for night fishing. We would squeeze through a gap in the fence to get in. Then I became pregnant with first baby and suddenly I couldn't fit through any more. This place holds a lot of memories for me, sitting on the bridge as teenagers with our cheap cider and even cheaper cigarettes, messing about without a care in the world. Then the place got sold a few years ago and they destroyed the woodland to make the golf course bigger. It looks lovely, but for those of us who used to go here, we know it looked better before.
So here you have the reflections in the water and my reflection on days gone by. | |
