this ship was build with the old craftmenship ... they really build a ship that can sail too !! ... was good to follow while they build it !! ... now at the same shipyard they have started to build another ship "de zeven provincien" ... an old flagship of the Dutch Navy !

I visited Lelystad and the ship when it was in an early state. Very nice to "climb" in the ship.

Wowwww .. I've heard so much about the Batavia and Abel Tasman. This ship is a part of Australian History lessons as much as Tasman. What a mighty ship. Great photo!

this ship has been in Freemantle a few years agoo ... and the Aussies build a ship the "Duyfken" and sailed with that to holland ... was here next to the Batavia ... do you know the story of the batavia ??
