My 2008 trip to Holland

OMMEN

Prior to leaving Ommen I took a little walk in the area near my hotel.
Long ago, a catle stood in the forest near Ommen. In winter time, they used to cut blocks of ice out of the castle moat and store it here for later use. This is an ice cellar built into the side of a little hill. It is currently owned by the City of Ommen.

I know those kind of cellars, my grandparents used to have one... I loved to go for treasure hunt in there... sometimes you'd come accross some delicious jam 10years old...
