YOU CAN LISTEN TO THIS CD ON MY SLIDESHOW AND RECEIVE A FREE COPY OF THIS CD IF YOU LIKE IT. READ DETAILS BELOW.
My friend Ann McKenzie is an emergency room doctor with a wonderful voice and great musical talent. She recorded this CD with her own funds as a way to raise money for child cancer care following the death of 6 year old Connor Locken.
If you like what you hear you can receive a free copy of this CD from me (while supplies last), if you consider making a donation in Connor’s memory to a charity that helps children with cancer. If you live in Canada or the U.S.A., Connor’s family suggests in particular “the Children’s Wish Foundation”. Elsewhere, choose the appropriate charity in your area.
Just send me a private message with your snail mail address if you would like to receive a copy of this CD.
Ann McKenzie wrote the following liner notes on the cover of this CD:
“I’ve thought a lot about home.
I grew up in a loving home, and I believe Chuck and I are providing a loving home for our children: they like to be with us, and coming home makes all of us happy.
I ache for tose people who need a loving family and a physical, emotional or spiritual home. I hope and pray that many of those people will decide to follow Jesus, to become part of God’s family, and ultimately to be welcomed home in heaven. Most of the songs on this CD are related in some way to the themes of home and heaven. I thank the Lord for the gift of music, and the joy and comfort it brings. I pray that these songs, all my best but far fro perfect, make my Father in heaven smile. I hope you enjoy them, too.
This CD was recorded in memory of Connor Locken, a friend of our family who died in July of 2000 at the age of six. We know he is in his heavenly home, where his family and friends will eventually join him, but he is missed enormously.
Connor was a healthy, active 5 year old, until he was diagnosed with cancer. He bravely battled cancer for a year and a half before he died, coping with surgeries and radiation treatments with few complaints, and keeping his sense of humour all the way. Connor’s collections of beanie baby toys and paper butterflies were a comfort to him, and later to the many people who received them as gifts by which to remember him.
Three of the songs on this CD (marked with *) were sung in remembrance of Connor, at services held for him.”
