Delft is famous for it's Delft Blue ceramics.
This store, The Porceleyne Fles, (the porcelain bottle) is known to collectors all over the world.

When you think of Delft, you think of Delftware - and that is no surprise when you consider that Delft ceramics have been an important export product for more than 400 years.
In the days of the Dutch East India Company Delft potters came into contact with Chinese porcelain. Soon they tried to imitate the Chinese products, and with success…….Delft ceramics became famous all over the world.
For centuries ceramics have been important to the development of Delft, and they still are. Historic and modern ceramics can be found side by side in Delft.

KLM Royal Dutch Airlines presents its Business and Royal Class customers with delft blue miniature houses. They have been presented over a long period and have become very valuable and collectable for KLM delft miniature house collectors. Since the first KLM blue delft miniature release in 1952, the collection has grown and there are now 88 different types of houses in the series.
