Thor, we have lots of them here.
The major lakes are teeming with pelicans, and here around the Red River we see them regularly.

Karl, I noticed that as well.
Unfortunately, I was standing on a bridge above the pelicans, with lots of traffic whizzing by.
Although the pelicans flew around, it was usually for a short time, and one never knew when or where or which one would take off. So I had to race whenever I saw one taking off. It occasionally took a toll on the focus.
