My 2008 trip to Holland

VIANEN

The Voorstraat (main street) in Vianen. The entire street is a dutch national monument. Most of the building facades date back to at least 1600 and are not allowed to be altered or renovated without approval of the Dutch government.
The center of the street is paved with cobblestones. This portion of the street is repaved every 5 years, at which time each cobble stone is lifted and returned to its exact location after the ground underneath is smoothed out.

The cathedral at the end of the street is known as the 'Grote Klok" (grand clock) and dates back to the year 1348.
