Day 2:
We have started our drive along the Chief Joseph Highway towards Cooke City, Montana.

The red cliffs near the Dead Indian Pass are eye catching.

The forty-six mile long Chief Joseph Scenic Byway is a beautiful drive that passes through a wide variety of scenic terrain. The highway passes through beautiful valleys and climbs steeply up several mountain passes to an elevation of 9000 feet that provide superb views of Northwest Wyoming. The byway ends at the junction with the Beartooth Highway, east of Cooke City, Montana.

Unusual rock colour John.
It reminds me of the hill to the back of our house, at seven in the morning as the sun hits it the hill becomes that colour for about half an hour, it's quite magical.

Like Don I'm enjoying the trip with you. :-)
