In May 2002, ten steel girders, rescued from the rubble of the former New York World Trade Centre, were brought to rest at the International Peace Garden. It is a memorial to those that lost their lives in the tragic event of September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks on the United States.
THIS IS NOT A POLITICAL STATEMENT, but a remembrance of the 2752 innocent people who died as a result of the attack.
Inside the chapel of the garden, enclosed in glass is a book with the names of those who perished.
