Hindeloopen.
Between 1500-1700 Hindeloopen due to its location on the shores of the Zuiderzee was homeport to a large fleet of fishermen. Since the sea was dammed off its importance waned.
However, due to it's location on the lake that was created, it now is homeport or a preferred destination for many yachts and sailboats.
