Our holiday trip
Days 6-7-8
The Maid of the Mist 27/29

On the return trip we once again pass the American Falls.

The Maid Of The Mist will take you on a 30 minute, “thrill of a lifetime” boat ride into the thunder of Niagara Falls. A powerful diesel-engined boat takes you from the Canadian docks past the base of the American Falls, end then into the basin of the magnificent Horseshoe or Canadian Falls. A plastic blue rain poncho is provided to each passenger, yet as you get closer to the the Horseshoe Falls, water rushes all around you as you “soak” in the excitement and explore the roar of The Falls.
The boat takes you to the centre of the Horseshoe Falls basin, where the engines are cut back and the boat comes to a stop. You are so close to the falls that it seems you could reach out and touch the water. As you look up it appears that the water is falling from the sky. The force of the falling water creates a wind that blew the poncho off my head. The roar of the falling water creates a sound that is not just heard but felt as a vibration through your entire body.
The Maid Of The Mist boat ride is an absolute must for anyone visiting Niagara Falls. It will provide you with an experience that will stay with you for your entire life.

(My camera is now within a plastic ziplock bag, with an opening for the lens, wich is secured with masking tape.)
