A-Hah! We are indeed gifted skivers. We know the hard work that goes into a successful skive. We shall lead the way. Let our call echo round the world -

Skivers of the world - Unite, and do nothing!

"Skivers of the world - Unite, and do nothing!"

I can't be arsed to go to the trouble of uniting - I find it interrupts my skiving time

This is a fav moth for me. Your macros put any of my puny efforts to shame. Pray tell what lens you use...

Hi Biggles. I use a Sigma 105mm macro lens for all the insect pics.

Oh, and I also use a flash gun for most of the shots. This moth is a good example of a pic I just couldn't have taken using natural light. The flash will sync to 1/200th, and allows decent depth of field (at f11, f14 etc.).
And forget about autofocus for this type of stuff, always use manual. I tend to pre-focus the lens, then move the camera til the image is sharp.

Thats the same lens as I have...I think I just need a bit of practice- some good weather would help.
