last part of our tour to Muiden and Pampus, the last fort we visited was Muiden Fortress - West Battery
A 1799 battery was replaced in 1852 with the current brick tower fort. Located near the mouth of the river Vecht in the Southern Sea. Main task was to prevent landings.
this is a good restaured fort and now in use by the waterscouts !
nice details .... one of the ventilation hatches, still works ... was ment to vent the smoke our after the canon was fired !!
