last part of our tour to Muiden and Pampus, the last fort we visited was Muiden Fortress - West Battery
A 1799 battery was replaced in 1852 with the current brick tower fort. Located near the mouth of the river Vecht in the Southern Sea. Main task was to prevent landings.
this is a good restaured fort and now in use by the waterscouts !
this foto i took from a poster, shows where the battery is lokated, not even much Dutch people know about this towerfort !! ........left top the "Muidercastle" ... the river Vecht and at the right the "westbattery" !
