i will start this series of the defenceworks at Kornwerderzand with a map of Holland that explains the meaning of it ... the afsluitdijk was closed in 1932 ...a monument is placed on that closing spot ! ... to prevent any enemy to enter Holland by passing the dike, defenceworks where created at both ends of the dike ... at the eastside near Kornwerderzand a museum is created in some of the 17 kazemats ...so the next series will be about that !!
